My wife, Joanne, is a Language Arts teacher at one of our Secondary Schools. She is an excellent homemaker, a passionate lover and a determined professional, all rolled into one. Clarissa is my eldest daughter now lives in Houston, TX, with her Mom. Dwight, Yoshabel, Corazon and Abigail live with us at home. Have a glimpse of them in my Photo Album. I have been a primary school teacher most of my working life, during which time I had the privilege of working with children from ages 5 to 16. I served as Principal of the Delices Primary School in Dominica for 5 years prior to taking up undergraduate studies in 1996. I served as Treasurer and First Elder of my home church for many years, during which time I probably learned much more than I taught, as every life that was blessed by my guidance was twice the blessing to me. Wherever I find myself, I am naturally attracted to people who need help, and feel moved to lending my support. I therefore have a huge "adopted family" of young people whom I have "adopted" for various reasons. This brings great joy and blessing to my life, and it gives fulfilment of the namesake that I bear. The Internet has allowed me to extend my "family" well beyond national borders, and I am proud of all of my "children", wherever they may be, as thought hey were my very own. I come from quite a large family. My father bore 13 of us, though I grew up with 8 siblings at home. We grew up in what is probably the most remote part of my island, and growing up was one eternal picnic of fun and hardship bundled together. My fondest childhood memories include fishing off the rocks in the Atlantic Ocean, lots and lots of hiking, and playing games inthe moonlight with the neighbourhood children. Friendships and allegiances were deep-rooted, and to this day, I do an annual "pilgrimmage" to my little village at Christmastime, to renew the bonding that was wrought way back then. |
